These simple leggings are a great way to use up leftover sock yarn while keeping your little one's legs warm in the process. Don't have a baby? Use them as pear cozies!

sized to fit infants 0-6 months old

Materials:

approx 40g fingering weight yarn (I used leftovers)
double pointed needles, size 1

gauge: 9 sts = 1"

loosely cast on 64 stitches. knit in 2x2 rib for 1 1/4". switch to stockinette and knit straight to 4" from cast on edge.

next row: *K6, k2tog* rpt to end of round. 56 sts remain
next row: *K5, k2tog* rpt to end of round. 48 sts remain

knit straight for 1" from last decrease row.

next row: *k4, k2tog* rpt to end of round. 40 sts remain. knit straight for 1".

knit 2x2 rib for 1". bind off VERY loosely (you may want to go up a couple of needle sizes). the finished leg warmer should be 7" long.
